- Online (Zoom) GET DIRECTIONS
At this workshop, we bring together people working with the Zoopla dataset from The Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC), the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) and other data users, as well as a presentation from Zoopla about recent developments in the data.
Zoopla is one of the UK's leading aggregators of property listings data, giving free access to information on 27,000,000 homes, up to 1,000,000 property listings and 15 years of sold prices data. UBDC’s Data Service is licensed by Zoopla to provide access to the data for registered users. This workshop will include examples of how Zoopla can be used to produce policy relevant research on the housing market, affordability and the private rental sector.
Programme
Prof. Nick Bailey, Director of the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC)
Ross Allan, Director of Property Data Solutions at Hometrack (Zoopla)
Tom Waters, Associate Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS)
Dr Michail Georgiou, Research Associate at the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC)
These will be followed by a round of short presentations (<5 minutes) by current data users on how they have used the data, their research aims and what they would like to see for an improved experience. For this, we invite delegates to sign up via this form.
The final section of the workshop will feature a talk by Prof. Nick Bailey on the recent and planned developments from a data service end at UBDC.
This workshop provides a great opportunity to learn more about this dataset and to network with other data users.
